26th Annual Fairfield Community Association Swiftsure Breakfast

Saturday .. Clover Point Park (Dallas Road and Moss Street) On Saturday May 24th, The Fairfield Community Association is putting on their 26th annual Swiftsure Breakfast!!  This is a large scale community event that will kick off the start of the Swiftsure Yacht race by serving a continental style breakfast to the spectators at Clover Point Park. Breakfast will cost $5.00 and includes: A muffin from Bubby Rose’s Bakery, A piece of fresh fruit from Thrifty Foods, A yogurt from Island Farms. and either a coffee from Salt Spring Coffee Co. (please bring  your own travel mug)  or juice from Thrifty Foods. Proceeds go towards providing youth programs and services for the families of the Fairfield community through the Fairfield Community Place. This is an excellent family event, so bring everyone along. See you at the start line. Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion

Wheels In Motion brings communities across Canada together to raise funds for solutions that improve the quality of life of people with spinal cord injury. The local event will feature the Scotiabank Wheelchair Challenge a fun and exciting experience where teams compete in a relay and gain a better understanding of issues that people living with spinal cord injury face in their day-to-day lives. The 6th annual Wheels In Motion will be held at Willow’s Park in Oak Bay prior to the Oak Bay Tea Party at 10:00 AM on Sunday, June 8th, 2008. Hbc Run for Canada

Times Colonist 10k Run - 8am, 1k Fun Run - 9:30am, 3k Walk - 10am The Hbc Run for Canada is the largest fundraising event in support of Canadian athletes. Kick off the Canada Day celebrations in downtown Victoria by participating in this fun, family-friendly event that helps support Canadian Olympic athletes. With a 10k run, a 3k walk, and a 1k kid's fun run, there's an event for everyone. Food and entertainment for the whole family. Art Gallery of Greater Victoria’s Food & Beverage Garden: noon- 9 pm Dancing to Kumbia: 4 pm to 9 pm The (a not-for-profit event) features invited professional and emerging artists from Victoria and Region who demonstrate their art to 30,000 visitors walking Moss Street from Fort to Dallas Road. The Paint-In offers visitors an opportunity to meet and discuss the artists' work and methods and to see an enormous variety of professional work at one time.

August -- Victoria Dragon Boat Festival -- Competitors from the Pacific Northwest challenge each other in a spectacular display of colorful dragon boats. September -- Victoria Classic Boat Festival -- Stroll Victoria’s Inner Harbour on the Labour Day weekend where you can view over 100 classic sail and power boats from throughout the Pacific Coast . Featuring steamboats cruising the Gorge Waterway.On Sunday enjoy the colorful sail past in the morning and the annual Schooner Cup and Classic Open Sail races in the afternoon. November to December -- Salmon Run Goldstream Park -- Goldstream River is a world-class salmon spawning stream with thousands of Chum Salmon returning each year.
