For most part the roads throughout Greater Victoria serve the communities very well except for a number of poorly planned outdated, dangerous intersections and transportation corridors. Anyone attempting to travel McKenzie Ave, Douglas St, Old Island Hghway at Craigflower, Trans-Canada Highway intersection at Admiral and McKenzie Ave. will quickly realize we are heading into grid lock. We do need a master community transportation plan where all communities need to get out of their NIMBY attitude and face the realities of the day. We need to be proactive not inactive.

Fall is a fantastic time of year in Victoria. Get out and enjoy, kick leaves, walk beaches, bike the Galloping Goose Trail then stop at your favorite place for coffee, conversation or just people watch. Hatley Park colors are spectacular as the vines on Hatley Castle go from greens to bright reds. Walking the Gorge Waterway may give you a glimpse of migrating birds, a seal looking for food or kayakers paddling against the tide. If timed right you will see the reversing falls under the Tillicum Bridge. This site is sacred to our First Nations people and there is information posted about the site under the bridge. It can be accessed by following the walkway from Kinsmen Park. Later in the evening you might drop by 1550s, Pescatore's Seafood Grill or Pessaro's Greek Italian Restaurant for dinner depending on whether you want a casual meal or a more formal repast. You can travel on the 55-kilometre Galloping Goose Regional Trail and Lochside Trail; from the BC Ferries near Sidney BC to downtown Victoria BC or out Sooke BC, and beyond. Experience urban back streets and waterways where every turn in the trail leads to a new and exciting outdoor adventure. Cycling Tours in Saanich circumnavigates the Municipality of Saanich. -- Need to rent a bike, there are several bike rental business providing the things you need plus loads of advice. Coastal Cycle & Watersports is located on the Old Island Highway next to the Galloping Goose Trail. Switch Bridge Tours at Selkirk Station is located near the Selkirk Bridge on the Galloping Goose Trail.
